It's Easter Cookie time! This traditional recipe has been passed down and I might be in trouble for sharing it with you, but I'll take the risk.
1 bottle of vanilla for the entire batch of dough is how we've been taught, but we tried half of the dough with vanilla and half with almond. Both are very good.
Recipe:
5lb flour
2lb sugar
1 dozen jumbo eggs
1lb butter
1 - 1oz bottle of vanilla
10 teaspoons of baking powder
Cream sugar and softened butter. Mix in baking powder. Add flour in increments. Next, lightly beat eggs with vanilla. Add wet mixture to dry and mix until dough forms. It's best to use your hands and to work in batches - it a lot of dough.
Next form any shape you'd like but keep it uniform. Bake at 350 for about 15-20 minutes depending on the size of your cookie.
Enjoy!
