Nine great tips to make drinking water taste better

We all know how important it is to drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. But many of us just don’t find drinking regular water all that enjoyable. You’ll need about 34 US fl. oz (one liter) of water, and the amount of ingredients can vary depending on your preferences. 1. Lemon and strawberry Chop half a lemon into wedges, add a cup of chopped strawberries. Squeeze the juice out of the ingredients. Add a sprig of rosemary (optional) and pour in some water. 2. Orange, lime and lemon Put all the ingredients, sliced up, into a jar. Squeeze the juice out, add some mint, then add the water. 3. Watermelon and strawberry slush with a hint of lime for a refreshing summertime treat! As the first watermelon enters the house, there is a rush of excitement.  Never seen out of season here, everyone gathers to fulfill their prolonged craving.  Three short months in New England, that’s pretty much it. I actually had no plan to create slushies today, yet I found myself with a giant half watermelon completely frozen. Because, well… it was in my freezer. Apparently when you send a 9 year old boy down to the basement because the watermelon does not fit in the kitchen refrigerator, you need to give explicit instructions as to where said watermelon should go. Which leads me to my advice regarding this drink.  It will make your life a heck of a lot easier if you cut the watermelon before freezing it.  Just in case you weren’t sure. Watermelons take a really, really long time to defrost. After hacking into that beautiful partially fro...

My kids went crazy for these – which is a win in my book.  With zero refined sugar, this is a breakfast I can totally get behind.  Actually we enjoy these smoothie bowls as a snack too, it’s really great any time of day.  It might look a little fancy,  but it’s easy to make I promise!  Even if just for yourself, it is fun to make a pretty breakfast every once in a while 🙂  My family had the discussion about whether or not it is worth it to make your food look nice before eatin...
